What a rollercoaster the last week has been. Where do we even begin?
Last weekend we set the first of the Fusion Short Stories, Dark Entity, for free on Amazon. It was a small little promotion, the first of many, to generate some interest our way. Dark Entity is an interesting entry point into the series and is very much a piece of two halves. Sacrifice and battle. It lets people know what they’re in for, plus there’s details of Dark before his exile which seem to get people quite excited.
The response to this little promotion surprised us.
In 3 hours we hit 170 in the category of short stories, 12,000 overall. 8 hours later we were at 18 in the same category and around 1,000. Come the end of the promotion we had cracked the top ten and got into the top 300 on Amazon UK. Over on Amazon US, it was just shy of the top ten.
Of course Emma and I want to thank everyone for our support. We’ve not felt so humble before so for everyone who took the time to support us, tweet us, like us and of course read the bloody thing, thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
Because of this amazing response we will be formulating a little surprise, but that is in due course.
Hunt for the Phoenix has now blossomed too. It’s being prepared for a rerelease, adorned with inner artwork and a fetching new cover.
More information in this Blog Post As soon as Amazon give the all clear we’ll provide instructions on how to obtain the latest version. It should be as simple as clicking on the buy button in the store, prompting the new version to download (please note, there won’t be a second charge if you’ve already bought it) though we’re still ensuring this is the case. Watch this space.
Emma’s getting particularly excited about the writing room being finished in the house. Painting is not my forte. That’s all I have to say on that matter, but we’ll upload pictures when done. As you can see she’s very vocal about this on Twitter…
It may be surprising to hear that Emma has got her first Kindle. Rather than use mine or rely on her mobile phone app, she is getting use to the device as I write this. Already today she’s read through two short stories and is devouring the original Dracula. It only turned up this morning. To sum it up in a word, she calls it “brilliant”. Of course, being the tech head that I am, I crave colour e-ink displays. Failing that, an announcement of the Kindle Fire to be launched over here in the UK.
Enjoy your week everyone.
